Chevy Chase Golf Course
Number 10 tee in winter, serious mud!
The back nine (referred to as the forest nine) built out of the heavily forested hill above the front nine . The back nine opened on May 9, 1997, 72 years after the front nine. The design of the back nine was done by Michael Asmundson who is now principle owner of the course..
Even though there is quite a lot of sloped fairways on the back the winter play can be quite wet.
Winter of 2007-2008 saw early winter quite nice in terms of slogging about because of the drainage issues with the course. Late winter was a real slog.
This web site is not the official site of the golf course, they do not have one. The purpose of this site was a historical perspective. If you have something to add about the history of the course, please drop me a note via the contact page.
